NIHAK has compiled the most significant events of the past year, general information about the organization’s activities, and an overview of the situation in the region’s business life in one document.
The year 2022 was a time of change and development in the NIHAK area, as evidenced by the growing need for international expansion services as well as change of ownership services. Companies in the region have developed their operations, sought new markets, and invested in recruitment – also outside Finland.
The economic situation in the region is on the right track. Green transition projects have already started to materialize in the region, for example through large-scale investments in solar and wind power, and self-sufficiency in jobs has increased. The unemployment rate has remained low and the turnover of the region’s companies is growing.
Through NIHAK’s business services and project activities, a wide range of training, coaching and events were arranged in 2022 to support the development and growth of the region’s entrepreneurs.
In 2022, 34 projects were in progress. The total funding for this project portfolio amounted to €13.05 million, of which NIHAK’s own project activities accounted for a total of €2.7 million. Through comprehensive and targeted project activities, it is possible to attract operations that genuinely benefit the region and its entrepreneurs.
One of NIHAK’s tasks is to promote the region. This work has continued in cooperation with the municipalities and cities in the region, as well as with a wider range of stakeholders. NIHAK ensures that the needs and views of the region are taken into account when preparing for decision making at both the regional and national level.
