Haapajärvi Biorefinery is ready-made investment opportunity for a company who is interested in being involved in the production of sustainable bioproducts. Bio-oil can be used as a substitute for fossil fuels in various ways. There is a growing demand for refining it for transport or chemical industry.
In Haapajärvi, industrial zoning is ready and the feasibility stydy as well as the process for environmental permitting are ongoing. Raw material is well available: the nearby sawmills produce woody side streams.
